Uranium Mining and Prospecting

Important: Because uranium is present in our environment, it is very important to have your house tested for the presence of Radon gas. Radon is a colourless and odourless gas which is a product of uranium decay. Because it is heavier than air, it can seep into basements and accumulate in our living spaces. Radon is known to cause cancer when found in large enough concentrations (more than 200 becquerels).

Signs

We've had many requests from people who attend our public awareness sessions for the yellow signs.

They can be purchased at the sessions themselves as well as at a few businesses in the area. We will publish the list of businesses that carry the signs here and update it as necessary.

If your business would be interested in distributing these signs, please contact us.

All That Glitters Is Not Gold

This video presentation was developed in Australia to inform people of the dangers of uranium mining. A great deal of the content is relevant to our situation in New Brunswick so it's well worth watching.

Note: As you watch this video which mentions distances in the 1000+ km range, keep in mind that New Brunswick is only 320km north to south.

A Hard Rain

This video, also developed in Australia discusses the problems with uranium mining and nuclear energy.
