On this World Oceans Day, millions of people from across our blue planet will join together to celebrate our oceans, including New Brunswickers’ beloved Atlantic Ocean. World Oceans Day has been celebrated every year on June 8 after thousands of organizations signed a global petition in 2008 to secure the official recognition from the United Nations.
