Apple Molasses is made simply by boiling apple cider down to 1/7th of its original volume. Drizzle this delicious treat over vanilla ice cream, use it to baste roasts, add a shot to hot tea – the possibilities are endless!
For Crabapple Butter:
-Stew the crabapples in the slow cooker, adding a couple of pears and apples for sweetness.
-When they are soft, run them through a food mill and continue to cook it in the slow cooker until it reaches a spreadable consistency.
-Sweeten to taste, and add cinnamon nutmeg and cloves if desired.
The butter can be refrigerated for short-term storage, or processed in a water bath for longer storage.
