Congratulations to our board member Rebeka Frazer-Chiasson on being named part of the 2014-15 cohort of young leaders participating in 21inc!
21inc is a non profit organization dedicated to helping young entrepreneurs from Atlantic Canada gain the leadership skills they need to make our region a prosperous, sustainable and resilient global player in the 21st century.
Frazer-Chiasson was one of 21 people under the age of 40 from across the Maritimes who were selected to participate in the skills development program.
Last month, she and the others toured New Brunswick as part of 21inc’s 10-month leadership journey, which includes several weekend training retreats.
Frazer-Chiasson is a member of the Conservation Council’s board of directors, works for the Northumberland Community Inclusion Network as part of the provincial government’s poverty reduction plan, and is youth president of the National Farmers Union in New Brunswick.
Having grown up among brussel sprouts, strawberries and hens, she now owns and manages a small organic farm in her native Rogersville, La Ferme Terre Partagée.
“It’s a tribute to the local food and local farms movement that 21inc felt that it was important to value rural life and farms,” says Frazer-Chiasson. “Our fellow participants value the different perspective we can bring to the table. I’m really excited to see how I connect to others and their visions of New Brunswick.”
We can’t wait to see and learn more about the exciting ideas these passionate Maritimers will come up with. Major props from the Conservation Council to Rebeka and all 21inc participants!
