Conserver House taking donations for Wil-Doo Community Bike Club again this year

The Wil-Doo Community Bike Club is busy getting ready for another season of bicycling with children from Fredericton’s north side.

The club provides an important community service because it brings together children who are newcomers from different countries, including the Congo and the Philippines, First Nation from Saint Mary’s (Sitansik) and locals. The club organizes the donations of bikes and bike parts so that every kid who wants a bike has one.

Jenn and Rusty Wambolt, the Doone Street residents behind the club, are currently building bike racks and storage facilities for the bikes and bike parts that continue to be generously donated by people in Fredericton.

For her efforts, Jenn recently received an Unsung Hero Community Award from the City of Fredericton for organizing the Wil-Doo Community Bike Club. Congrats Jenn!

The Conservation Council is happy to support the Wil-Doo Community Bike Club again this year by serving as a Fredericton south drop-off location for bikes and bike parts for the club.

The Wil-Doo Community Bike Club will take donations:

* Bikes
* Bike parts & tools
* Bike accessories (helmets, lights, etc.)
* Off-roading bike accessories (knee pads, etc.)
* Toolshed/storage units

Donations can be dropped off at Conserver House, 180 Saint John St., during office hours – 9am to 5pm or after hours by making arrangements with Tracy at tracy.glynn@conservationcouncil.ca.
