Our Fundy Baykeeper, Matt Abbott, will talk about the impact plastic pollution is having on our beautiful Bay of Fundy as a panelist at CBC Land and Sea’s Waves of Change public screening event and discussion on Monday, Feb. 4 in Fredericton.
This free event is open to everyone and aims to generate a conversation in our community that is inspiring, encouraging and informative. The event takes place at 7 p.m. inside the Kinsella Auditorium at St. Thomas University and will include a screening of Ocean Devotion, documenting the efforts of residents and businesses to reduce plastic pollution in the seaside town of Lunenberg, N.S., and two other short films; one about single-use plastic waste in New Brunswick, and the other about CBC producer Viola Pruss’ own one-month challenge to kick single-use plastic from her daily routine.
Following the films, our Fundy Baykeeper Matt Abbott will take part in a panel discussion hosted by CBC anchor Harry Forestell and joined by fellow panelists Jane Adley, producer of Ocean Devotion, Viola Pruss, and Brenda McCallum of the Fundy Regional Service Commission.
Audience members are encouraged to ask questions and share their own ideas or initiatives to reduce plastic waste. Organizers anticipate the event will run around 90 minutes in total.
We hope to see you there!
