Are you a nature-lover with an eye for video editing? Are you proud of all the great work happening in your community to help move New Brunswick toward a green economy? Then this contest is for you!
New Brunswick has many champions for rural, social, environmental and economic justice and four fantastic groups have joined together to lift up the voices of these champions. Now you can help spread their message in the trendiest way by telling their story in the first RAVEN Cell Phone Music Video Contest aimed at showcasing our neighborhood eco-champions and all they’re doing to change the word around us.
Five winners will each receive $1,000 and have their cellphone music videos shared online at the NB Media Co-op website and featured as part of this year’s Earth Day celebrations on April 22.
We encourage all our supporters to participate in this great contest organized in collaboration by RAVEN (Rural Action and Voices for the Environment), the NB Film Co-op, the NB Media Co-op and the JEDINB (Joint Economic Development Initiative). Visit the contest’s Facebook page for full details.
New to video editing? No worries! For those that are new to creating videos using your cellphone, an online webinar will be hosted on Feb. 5 by RAVEN researcher Casey Burkholder to teach all the tips and tricks to creating eye-catching content using nothing but your everyday smartphone – no fancy lenses required! Sign up for the free webinar here.
Interested participants are invited to email ravenvideocontest@gmail.com with the subject line “Contest Application” to receive your application form. All submissions must be made by March 15.
