Term position: This is a term position of seven to 12 months. The position can be renewed pending project activity and funding renewal. Ideal start date is May 15th to June 1st, 2021.

Job description: CCNB is looking for a junior policy analyst/campaigner/researcher interested in electricity issues, particularly in the Atlantic region as a solution to climate change. The Atlantic Electricity Vision project is part of a national network of projects that support Canada reaching its greenhouse gas reduction goals. The successful applicant will be part of a team of environmental groups from across Canada collaborating to advance an affordable, reliable and sustainable electricity system based on energy efficiency and renewable energy, that phases out all fossil fuels and delivers the power needed to electrify our economy. The project involves technical and communications research, policy development, government and media relations, social media engagement and coordination.

Qualifications: We are looking for a recent university or college graduate with credentials in environmental studies, climate change and/or engineering/electricity systems or equivalent experience. Strong research, writing and social media skills are required, as is a willingness to participate in proposal writing to funders. Bilingualism is an asset as are relationships with BIPOC communities (black, indigenous, people of colour). 

Remuneration: 12-month term: $40,000 to $45,000
