Executive Director Lois Corbett speaking with Catherine Harrop of CBC News at the announcement of the Association of Professional Geoscientists and Engineers of New Brunswick’s solar panel installation on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Executive Director Lois Corbett spoke with CBC New Brunswick about a new regulation from the provincial government to allow small-scale renewable energy projects in NB.

“Whether it’s solar or wind installations on our First Nations, whether it’s encouragement to individual homeowners who have a great south-facing roof, we’ve got to have that whole basket of tools if we’re going to rise to the climate change challenge,” Corbett said of the new regulation.

Corbett also spoke with the New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal about the installation of 60 solar panels on the roof of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick at the foot of the Hanwell Road in Fredericton.

Lois Corbett of the New Brunswick Conservation Council said it is encouraging to see solar energy growing in acceptance in New Brunswick.

Corbett said the association building with its panel-covered roof will be seen by many people in the city as it is on one of the major streets – the Hanwell Road.

This installation is magnificent in its ability to show ordinary New Brunswickers that this technology is touchable, lookable, feelable and good for you,” she said.

We are in the first chapter in the solar revolutions. Let us see how the rest of the story gets told.
