The Conservation Council’s Executive Director Lois Corbett spoke with reporter Mathieu Roy-Comeau of l’Acadie Nouvelle on the 500 intervenors to be heard at the National Energy Board (NEB) panel review sessions on Wednesday, July 22. Read the article here.
Earlier this month, Corbett, alongside other environmental groups such as Nature NB and the Citizen’s Coalition for Clean Air, reminded the NEB of concerns associated with TransCanada’s proposed Energy East pipeline.
The concerns include risks to fresh water fish and habitat, impacts of increased shipping traffic in the Bay of Fundy and the lack of resources to address a possible spill.
