Devil in the details: N.B. burning oil, coal at more than double the rate
Oct. 13, 2022 — Dr. Louise Comeau, our Director of Climate Change and Energy Solutions, speaks to CBC New Brunswick about NB Power’s recent filing with the Energy and Utilities Board showing that it is burning fossil fuels at more than double the rate it had planned for this year. “The math doesn’t add up,” Comeau says of the utility’s claims that its carbon emissions will go down despite the spike in coal, oil and petroleum coke.
