A one of a kind handmade mixed media piece that captures a small piece of the forest floor. Created using needle felting techniques and mounted on local New Brunswick shale and finished with lichen and moss.  Each needle felted piece takes 4-6 hours to complete depending on the size.

The witch’s hat is widely distributed in mixed wood and conifer forests across North America. The witch’s hat is a small mushroom which blackens when bruised or by old age. This mushroom gains its name from its distinctive witch’s hat shape.
