Forests for NB – A website dedicated to publishing information about the controversy sparked by the NB government’s Crown Lands and Forest Strategy announced on March 12, 2014. The website is organized by members of the New Brunswick Environmental Network.
Community Forests International – Community Forests International’s mission is: “To foster environmental stewardship internationally by establishing community forests, promoting sustainable forestry techniques and initiating environmental education.”
Falls Brook Centre -An environmental education organization located in Knowlesville, NB. Falls Brook Centre’s biodiversity program includes a focus on the Acadian forest region.
Fundy Model Forest – The Fundy Model Forest is a partnership of diverse groups that come together to share ideas and information, evaluate the impact of various approaches to resource management, and undertake research to assist in better forest management.
Nature Trust of New Brunswick – The Nature Trust of New Brunswick is dedicated to identifying, promoting, protecting and maintaining the province’s ecological landscapes.
N.B. Federation of Woodlot Owners – The website for the 40,000 woodlot owners in the province of New Brunswick.

Eastern Shore Forest Watch – A group of concerned citizens who support a sustainable vision of sustainable forestry practices on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia.
Ecology Action Centre’s Clearcutting in Nova Scotia – A website that takes aim at clearcutting in Nova Scotia.
Macphail Ecological Forestry Project – The Macphail Woods Ecological Forestry Project combines protection of the natural area along the streams with wildlife enhancement, forest stewardship, watershed protection, environmental education and ecological research.
Nova Scotia Woodlot Owners and Operators Association – A progressive forest landowner organization in the province of Nova Scotia, with directors from the Ecology Action Centre and Windhorse Farm (among others) on the board.
Windhorse Farm and Ecoforestry School in the Maritimes – For those interested in forest restoration and ecoforestry – from choosing and cutting the trees to making and marketing high-value products. Internships are offered.
In Canada:
British Columbia Community Forest Association – The BCCFA is a network of rural community-based organizations in BC that are engaged in community forest management.
David Suzuki Foundation – The David Suzuki Foundation’s mission is to protect the diversity of nature and our quality of life, now and for the future.
Forest Ethics – Founded in 1994, ForestEthics is a nonprofit environmental organization with staff in Canada, the United States and Chile. Our mission is to protect Endangered Forests.
Forest Stewardship Council – Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, independent, non-governmental organization promoting environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forest.
Global Forest Watch – Global Forest Watch Canada published its first report in 2000: Canada’s Forests At A Crossroads – An Assessment in the Year 2000, which provides maps and data on forests and forest developments. This report has been published in both French and English. New projects being undertaken by Global Forest Watch Canada include updating forest tenures, assessing Aboriginal benefits from the forests of Canada, and auditing forest development activities on Canada’s freshwater riparian areas.

Sierra Club of Canada – Endangered species require recovery strategies to bring them back from the brink of extinction. Sierra Club of Canada is committed to the long-term health of the planet’s terrestrial and ocean ecosystems and the people whose livelihood depends upon them.
Silva Forest Foundation – The SFF develops and teaches the principles of ecosystem-based planning and ecologically responsible forest use, including alternatives to conventional timber management. The Silva Forest Foundation, (SFF), is a nonprofit organization based in the West Kootenay of British Columbia, Canada. SFF is the only Canadian forest certification body.
First Nations:
National Aboriginal Forestry Association – Promoting and supporting increased Aboriginal involvement in forest management and related commercial opportunities, while staying committed to holistic or multiple-use forestry, to build sustainable Aboriginal communities.
Free Grassy Narrows – 2,500 square miles of forests, lakes and rivers north of Kenora, Ontario have sustained the people of Grassy Narrows First Nation for thousands of years. Today, increasing levels of clear-cut logging threatens to uproot their traditional way of life.
International:
Forest Guild – The Forest Guild is a professional organization of forest stewards, associated natural resource professionals, and affiliates who are passionate about restoring and sustaining the integrity of our forests while meeting the needs of the communities that rely on them.
Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association -The MOFGA’s Low Impact Forestry seeks to encourage low impact forestry practices in Maine through establishing networks, appropriate standards of practice, and providing public and professional education.
Rainforest Action Network – Rainforest Action Network’s Old Growth Campaign is shining a spotlight on companies and industries that engage in outdated, destructive logging. We mobilize the power of public opinion to hold the corporate sector accountable to protecting our forests and our future.
RESTORE: The North Woods – RESTORE: The North Woods was founded in 1992 by conservationists who wanted to go beyond endless damage control, to begin restoring the health of entire landscapes in New England.
