Bay of Fundy Whale-Watching Tour

Explore the Bay of Fundy's Hidden Wonders with Two of New Brunswick's Top Conservation Experts!

Join us for a three-hour cruise through the Western Isles and Passages of the outer Bay of Fundy on Sept 22nd, hosted by the Conservation Council of New Brunswick and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – New Brunswick Chapter. The area is home to an incredible variety of marine life, including whales, sharks, seals, groundfish, birds, and an array of fascinating bottom-dwelling creatures. Its ecological importance makes it a prime candidate for Marine Protected Area status, and it’s a beloved focus of local conservation efforts.

Your guides for the journey will be Matt Abbott, Fundy Baykeeper, and Roberta Clowater, Executive Director of CPAWS-NB, along with local biologists aboard St. Andrews largest, most spacious whale-watching vessel. Matt and Roberta will share their deep knowledge of the area and its wildlife, discuss the challenges and triumphs of conservation in the region, and outline ongoing efforts to restore the Bay’s ecosystem after decades of decline. There are only a little more than 20 seats left, so this is your chance to ensure a place in this one-of-a-kind experience.

We will hear from two of New Brunswick's top conservation experts

Matt Abbott, based at the Conservation Council’s marine conservation office in St. Andrews, brings over a decade of experience collaborating with Indigenous Nations and groups, coastal fishers and coastal communities to develop practical solutions to the complex challenges facing New Brunswick’s coastal ecosystems and communities.

Roberta Clowater offers 30 years of leadership experience in New Brunswick’s non-governmental conservation sector in campaigns to protect NB’s nature that have resulted in over half a million hectares of new protected areas. She has also taught environmental policy  at St. Thomas University and the University of New Brunswick for over 15 years.
