Summer is such a wonderful time in Canada – warm weather and longer days mean more fun outdoor activities with the kids, weekends at the beach, BBQs and much more. It’s easy to see why Canadians sometimes forget to support their favorite causes during the summer months.
That’s why our friends at CanadaHelps and The GIV3 Foundation are helping charities like us through the summer-giving drought by launching the third annual Great Canadian Giving Challenge!
What is the Great Canadian Giving Challenge? It is a national public contest where every dollar donated to your Conservation Council of New Brunswick in June automatically enters us in a draw to win an additional $10,000!
Why donate today and not next month? 2018 is an important year for our province: We need ambitious policy to fight climate change and better prepare our communities for extreme weather events like last month’s historic flooding; we need more renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives that create good, sustainable jobs; we need smarter management of our beautiful Acadian forest;, and we need a comprehension water protection strategy that puts our drinking water and stunning coastal beaches first.
Not convinced yet? Over the last year, with support from passionate New Brunswickers like you, we played a key role in the province adopting stricter water quality standards following the Parlee Beach fiasco, we improved our free BuyLocalNB Directory where New Brunswickers can easily find nearby local goodies and grub; we helped more than 1,500 New Brunswickers write their MLA to stop the controversial herbicide spraying in our Crown forest; , and, we helped hundreds of New Brunswickers speak up for the pristine Nashwaak River watershed under threat from a proposed open-pit mine.
The challenge runs from June 1 to June 30 and only donations made at givingchallenge.ca or through the canadahelps.org website will be entered for the prize draw. Make your donation of $1, $10 or $25 today!
